The Cloister: A Polytheistic Monastic Community
A slow-paced, thoughtful community discussion forum open to monastics/hermits and those seriously considering the path
Just a brief update today.
If you’re a regular reader of Of Hearth & Shadow: Notes From Black Stone Sanctuary, you’ve probably heard about the “old-school” web discussion forum The Cloister: A Polytheistic Monastic Community in my previous intro post.
The forum has attracted an inflow of insightful and erudite new contributors in recent months, so if you’ve been planning to join but haven’t done so yet (or have already joined but haven’t returned to catch up lately), you may want to remedy that. Many great discussions take place there. Unlike social media, the pace tends to be slow and relaxed, and old threads can be revived at any time.
Lurkers are welcome, so do feel free to read in the background for as long as you like — there’s no pressure to introduce yourself. But please don’t hesitate to jump in if you are so inclined! Newcomers are warmly welcomed, questions are answered respectfully, the space is very LGBTQIA+ friendly, and you can join with a pseudonym. Membership is free and open to monastics/hermits and those seriously considering the path.
The founder of the forum is Lannan, and registration is by admin approval only. The entire forum (save for a couple of announcement posts on how to join) is private, but that’s mostly just to keep the place free of spammers and other nuisances, so don’t be fooled by the lack of public posts. There are 53 members, 86 topics, and 359 posts as of this writing.
It’s June now (where does the time go?!?) so happy pride month!
